Childcare
Childcare is already far too expensive for Salt Lake County Families. Unfortunately, County Republicans like Aimee Winder Newton want to make childcare even more expensive by cutting funding for affordable childcare. If I am elected to the Salt Lake County Council, I will fight any proposed cuts to childcare funding.
Affordable Housing
Too many Salt Lake County families have been priced out of their homes. If I am elected to the Salt Lake County Council, I will work with municipal governments to incentivize and fund affordable housing initiatives across our county.
No More Unnecessary Tax Increases
Our County Council raises taxes, even when they haven’t explored all available funding alternatives. As your County Councilmember, I will explore every possible alternative before supporting a tax increase. With a greater reliance on public-private partnerships and the support of generous donors, our county can avoid overburdening taxpayers with unnecessary tax increases.
